

Seek and Find
IF WE KNOW AND TRUST the good will of Jesus toward us we know and trust that the best way to happiness is to seek his kingdom first. Why? Because near the end of his kingdom manifesto Jesus told us to “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness” (Matthew 6:33). Not second, not third, and not once in a while, but first. WE can assume, because he always seeks our good that he means this for our good. We also know that a person of good will does not tell us to seek


The Terrible Lie
SATAN IS THE FATHER OF LIES, Jesus said. And there is one lie responsible for more pain and regret than any other lie. It may be a lie you are acting on right now. This lie always costs. It is a terrible lie yet we believe it over and over. The lie motivated Eve’s disobedience towards God. It motivates every sexual sin. It is behind every broken marriage. People would not steal if they did not believe this lie. They would not become addicts, or materialists, or hedoni


Strength Finders, Part 2
When our CBC church staff recently attended the Gallup StrengthFinder sessions we each discovered what our top five strengths are. We also learned valuable lessons for life. For example, people are six times more likely to be engaged in their work or ministry if they are working from their strengths.
