Our Church and Missions

The Crossfield Baptist Church affirms that the command to go to all the world with the gospel of salvation given by Jesus some 2000 years ago is as applicable today as it was then. The purpose of our church's involvement in missions is to fulfill the Great Commission of Christ (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-49; John 20:21; Acts 1:8; 26:1618)

This command that we call the "Great Commission" requires that we step beyond our immediate geographical sphere. Each of us is to discover where we fit in this process in one way or another - by praying for missions and missionaries, by giving of the resources God has given us, and by going as a missionary.

Crossfield Baptist Church has been blessed with a history of numerous people leaving our church family to go the ends of the world - including Africa, Europe, and South America. We wish to continue to be proactive in supporting and sending missionaries who will serve in various regions of the globe.

The Missions Committee exists to provide leadership in facilitating broad church involvement in missions. We will seek to maintain clear accountability to the Deacons Board and Pastors and the local congregation as we oversee the missions outreach of our church.

We wish for all glory to go to God as He adds to His kingdom by working through our local fellowship as we follow in obedience to His Great Commission.

OUR MISSIONS COMMITTEE

The Missions Committee exists to provide leadership in facilitating broad church involvement in missions.

As a missions Committee, we define missions as any endeavor outside our local congregation to fulfill the Great Commission by proclaiming the gospel of Christ, making disciples and relating to the whole need of mankind-spiritual and physical. Missions is the worldwide enterprise of making disciples of the nations that falls outside the normal outreach responsibilities of our local church.

To this end the Missions Committee will assist our congregation in the following:

 - Being informed about our missionaries

 - Passing this information to the church family

 - Praying for our missionaries

 - Finding and facilitating short-term mission opportunities .

 - Identifying and encouraging qualified missionary candidates

 - Commissioning capable men and women for service

 - Financially supporting missionaries and mission projects
